BY JULIE BRANDON
If I could make a wish
Upon the first star in the darkened sky
Or blow gently on a dandelion
And watch as seeds caught by the wind dance out of sight
If I could send a prayer to the heavens
Hands lifted though my heart is heavy
Through tears mingled with hope
Knowing full well the responsibility is ours
I would ask for peace
One that endures
For more than a day
Where all are safe
All are home
